Ukrainian State Statistics Committee claims that there is a "deficit" of male population in Ukraine. According the information provided by the Committee, the number women exceeds the number of men in the country with the difference of 3,6 mln people. The current population of Ukraine numbers 46 mln people, where 25mln are women and 21mln are men.
The distribution of population about the country is unique, too. About 16mln of women and 14mln of men live in cities (urban areas), and there are 7,8mln of women and 6,8mln of men who reside in rural areas.
Statistics also says that the age of 1,425 Ukrainians has exceeded of 100 years, among them there are 287 men and 1138 women. The working population counts 27,8 mln. people, including 14,3 mln men and 13,5 mln women. The average age of life for a Ukrainian man is 62 years, which is for 12 years less then for a woman.
In most of the world's countries the number of women exceeds the number of men, besides Asia and a few African countries, as well as a few Central and South America countries and Oceania, where the majority of male population has been statistically confirmed.
